Classic (2-Step) Challenge FAQs

How does Classic (2-Step) work?

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

The Classic (2-Step) Model is a structured, multi-phase evaluation designed for traders who want a clear, disciplined pathway to earning a funded account with ThePropTrade. To qualify, you must successfully complete both Phase 1 and Phase 2, each designed to assess profitability, consistency, and risk control.

Passing Objectives

Step 1 – Evaluation Phase

In the first step, you trade a simulated evaluation account with a defined profit target and risk limits.
Your goal is to demonstrate controlled, rule-compliant trading performance.

To complete Step 1, you must:

  • Reach a 5% profit target
  • Complete at least 3 profitable trading days, each with a minimum gain of 0.5%
  • Follow all risk rules and guidelines.

Once these objectives are met, you advance to Phase 2.

Step 2 – Verification Phase

After passing Step 1, you move to Step 2, which verifies that your performance is repeatable and consistent under the same trading conditions.

To complete Phase 2, you must:

  • Reach an 8% profit target
  • Complete at least 3 profitable trading days, each with a minimum gain of 0.5%
  • Follow all risk rules and trading conditions (same as Phase 1)

After Passing Both Phases

  1. Your account is reviewed to ensure all rules were followed.
  2. Complete KYC verification.
  3. Sign the Funded Trader Agreement.
  4. Your Funded Account is issued (typically within 3 business days).

Once funded, you become eligible to earn rewards according to the Classic (2-Step) funded account reward rules
